Further Success for Sam Bairstow

Having gained key experience and confidence from his performance in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, Sam Bairstow has continued his season of fine form with breakthrough milestones at both the acciona Open de Espana and the FedEx Open de France.

Impressing over the first two rounds of the National Open in Spain and sitting 3rd place in a field rich with pedigree, Sam’s reward was a Saturday grouping with double major winner & former World No.1, Jon Rahm and 2018 Masters Champion, Patrick Reed.

Sam would go on to more than hold his own in the marquee group, impressing with his calmness and the strength in his all-around game. Whilst Sam would go on to struggle in the Final Round, his participation alongside two of the world’s best amounted to invaluable experience.

Just two weeks later, Sam was once again in the midst of the weekends leading groups at the FedEx Open de France. Having posted fiercely impressive rounds of 71 | 65 | 65, Sam found himself in the final group of Sunday’s final round.

Taking confidence from the seven Top-15’s recorded in his rookie season and close title runs at both the Singapore Open and ISCO Championship, Sam’s performance on Sunday was one of utmost confidence, inner calmness and assurity.

With his final round score of 68 coming up just a single stroke shy of a playoff (the second time this season), Sam’s -15 tournament total was enough to secure a T2 finish and the highest DP World Tour finish of his career to date.
